As much as you don't wanna hear it, I am gonna comment on this piece nonetheless.
Look man, I know how you must feel. Betrayed? Obviously. Pissed off? Certainly. Depressed, hurt, dejected? Definitely. I can't tell you anything that will fix that as you have your opinions and beliefs and nothing I do or say can fix that. I get that. But ashamed? That one I don't get at all. You shouldn't be ashamed of any of the art you create, EVER! No matter what ya hear from me or anyone else.
This wasn't a gavel coming down on you about your art, it wasn't a judgment against line art, it wasn't even a case of line art versus color or pencil work versus inked or any other medium. It was simply a contest with a large group of people judging. We had a lot of artists voting, a lot of writers and a lot of art enthusiasts. For the sake of this post I'll tell you that I did not vote in the contest at all. I knew most of the artists involved and I didn't want to show favoritism to anyone regardless.
Though I can now let ya know, this piece is amazing. Incredible idea for the layout. I love how you got the four founders highlighted with the other members in action around them. Great idea there. You managed to get each individual character reflecting their personalities perfectly. There are some details that were not quite right as far as proportions like TA's staff but all in all I regard this as one of the best of the bunch. I'll admit it's hard to see too though. not sure what that is but there ya have it.
So in the end with all that said, I want to thank you for participating in the contest. We as a group have supported your art in the past and will continue to do so through commissions, comments, favorites or just views. I truly hope this experience has not hurt you so much as to not regard us at all.
